 b]Abstract:[/b]\nIn this talk\, we show that a groupoid model based on th
 e operad of\nparenthesized ribbons admits a cyclic structure. This extend
 s the action of\nGT from braids to ribbons\, thus providing a new charact
 erization of GT as\nan automorphism group of the prounipotent cyclic oper
 ad of parenthesized\nribbons. As a consequence\, we exploit this GT actio
 n to provide a simple\nproof of the formality of the cyclic-framed little
  disk operad. Finally\, this\naction extends to the category of parenthes
 ized tangles\, which verifies the\nconjecture of Kessel-Turaev about Galo
 is actions on framed tangles.\nThe work discussed here lays foundation to
  exploring GT actions on a\nbroader class of knotted objects such as B-ta
 ngles\, virtual tangles and\nwelded tangles\, which will be addressed in 
 our future work. This is a joint\nwork with Marcy Robertson.
