DESCRIPTION:The Future of Health Depends on Rehabilitation\nRehabil
itation has long been under-prioritized in health systems\, even as the g
lobal demand for these services rises sharply and far outpaces what is cu
rrently offered. Funding models often fail to support rehabilitation adeq
uately\, despite its essential role in universal health coverage\, health
y aging\, and equitable care. The WHO’s resolution on Strengthening Rehab
ilitation in Health Systems\, the Rehabilitation 2030 initiative\, and th
e World Rehabilitation Alliance (WRA) signal a global shift toward addres
sing this urgent gap. Dr. Côté will examine how health services and polic
y research can shape responsive policies\, drawing on the work of the WHO
Collaborating Centre on Rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal Health at the
Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research. He will also highl
ight why generating robust data on the value of rehabilitation\, its impa
ct on population health\, work productivity\, and quality of life for agi
ng adults is critical to support governments in making informed investmen
ts in integrated\, sustainable rehabilitation services.\n\nAbout Pierr
