DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Benjamin Jâger \nQuantum Field Theory Center &
Danish IAS\, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science\n\nAbstra
ct: In this talk\, we delve into how advanced computer simulations al
low us to study matter under the most extreme conditions. By employing a
technique known as Lattice QCD\, we can model the interactions of quarks
and gluons—the fundamental building blocks of matter. These simulations e
nable us to explore environments where temperatures and pressures reach a
stronomical levels\, shedding light on the physics of the early universe
as well as the complex inner workings of dense stars and other exotic sys
tems. \n\nLocation: D-IAS AUD (V24-501a-0)\n\nThe event is open to all. C
rémant and petits fours will be served.
