DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Benjamin Shackleton (University of Southern D
enmark).\n\nAbstract: \nIn this pre-PhD work\, completed with inpu
t from Professor Sir Simon Donaldson and Dr Daniel Platt\, I prove the ex
istence of a Ricci flat metric on the Kummer K3 surface. The proof follow
s the general strategy of Donaldson’s gluing construction. However\, we t
ackle the analysis without appealing to weighted norms or conformal trans
formations to model spaces\, instead relying solely on compact elliptic t
heory on usual Hölder and Sobolev spaces.\n\nThe talk will coversetting u
p the problem and the computation of the estimates used.\n\nThe paper can
