DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will introduce the NNF Quantum Computing Prog
ramme (NQCP) at the University of Copenhagen and its mission to enable th
e development of fault-tolerant quantum computing with applications in th
 e life sciences\, chemistry\, and sustainability. I will then provide a o
verview of quantum computing for molecular and materials science\, highli
ghting which chemical problems remain particularly challenging for classi
cal computation\, why these problems may benefit from quantum computation
s\, and how molecular systems can be encoded and simulated on quantum har
dware. Finally\, I aim to provide a concise perspective on the evolution
of the field—from early conceptual proposals to today’s emerging algorith
ms—and outline the key opportunities and open questions that shape the cu
rrent landscape of quantum computational chemistry.\n\nThese seminars are
primarily intended for Master's students\, especially those in Quantum C
omputing programs\, but everyone is welcome to attend.
