DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, Dr Nataša Lacković will explore how GenAI i
mages can be used as part of an interview method. The workshop will focus
on why\, when and how abstract concepts and topics across disciplines ca
n be “translated” into images\, extending the widely known research metho
d of photo-elicitation interviews into inquiry graphics interviews. These
types of interviews can also be understood as arts-based\, artefact-base
d\, visual and/or multimodal interviews.Inquiry graphics interviews are d
istinctive in that they build on sociomaterial and semiotic principles fo
r data creation and analysis\, which will be discussed during the worksho
p.Participants will engage in creating an image in response to a specific
research question\, and discussing the method\, its potential and its ch
allenges\, including the tricky positionality of AI in research.  For thi
s purpose\, attendees should bring a mobile device\, preferably a laptop\
, and have access to an AI platform capable of generating images\, such a
s ChatGPT. \nThere will also be an opportunity to follow up on the worksh
op through a joint publication. \n\nAbout Dr Nataša Lacković[/b
]\nDr Nataša Lacković is Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) at Lancast
er University\, Faculty of Humanities\, Arts and Social Sciences (FHASS).
She co-directs FHASS "Centre for Social Futures".Her work explores and ad
vances educational theories and practice at the intersection of humans\,
art-e-facts\, place\, technology\, nature and culture. She has coined a n
umber of new concepts\, such as inquiry graphics (images and art for inqu
iry)\, postdigtial bubbles\, postdigital living\, concepts on the spectru
m\, PSC (production-signification-consumption) critical media literacy me
thod\, key concepts of postdigital literacies\, and\, most recently\, art
efactual ecologies and pedagogies (publication in progress). She has publ
ished and co-edited four books and has written about relational and multi
modal higher education as well as different types of literacies and stude
nt experiences.  \n\nThis workshop is organised by DIAS Chair [url=https:
